Set within a native eucalypt landscape, this single-level residence draws its material language directly from the land. Rammed earth walls in warm ochre tones ground the building to its site, while a low-pitched skillion roof and continuous clerestory glazing dissolve the boundary between interior and canopy. The home is oriented to capture the northern light across its full length — living, dining and sleeping zones arranged in a single resolved band, opening generously to the landscape on all sides. The design resists ornamentation, allowing the texture of the earth walls, the grain of the timber battens and the rhythm of the black aluminium frames to carry the entire character of the home.
